KVBSA Baseball Rules 2010 General KVBSA Rules AGE CUT-OFF. KVBSA uses the cut-off of May 1st for baseball and January 1st for softball. There can be no exceptions because of our sanctioning organization affiliations. ATTEND 3 MEETINGS. There is a mandatory 3 meeting representation rule which will begin in November (a representative of your team must be at 3 of the meetings from November - April). This allows all teams to have an opinion in anything that may be discussed. SEASON & SCHEDULING. The younger leagues will run from the middle of April through the middle of July and the older leagues will run from the completion of the high school season until mid July. U14 has both options based on the make-up of the teams. All scheduling is done by the coaches and all games must be completed prior to districts and post-season play EJECTIONS. A player or coach ejected from a game FOR ANY
REASON will receive a MANDATORY one game suspension. A review for
further disciplinary action will be determined by the league
commissioner and board of directors. All ejections must be reported
when reporting the scores. Baseball PLAYING UP & MULTIPLE TEAMS. Kids may play up but they can not play down under any circumstances. As long as they are birth eligible they may play in that specific age group. A player can be on multiple rosters in different age groups but they can not be on more than 1 team's roster in their specific age group. (A U11 player may be on a U11 and U12 roster during the season. They have to declare which one they want for post season.) A U11 player may not be on more than 1 U11 roster, no matter how many teams are in that age bracket or how they are broken out. If they play one pitch for you then they may not change to another team in your age bracket. SPIKES. U8 through U12 are rubber spikes. U13 through U18 are metal or interchangeable. FORFEIT FEE. KVBSA will hold on to forfeit fee checks and will not cash a check unless the following conditions apply: 1. Your team provides less than 24 hours notice of cancellation for a scheduled game unless cancellation is due to weather conditions or facility problems. You may be asked to provide proof of facility problems from your recreation department. 2. Your teams fails to show for a scheduled game. 3. Your team accepts a post-season berth and then fails to appear. KVBSA will provide compensation for field and umpire fees incurred due to items 1 and 2.
