University of Michigan's Rich
Maloney Coaching Clinic
To help start the 2012 baseball season KVBSA is pleased
to announce we
are sponsoring a coaching clinic being conducted by University of
Michigan head baseball coach Rich Maloney and his staff. This clinic
will be:

Cost of the clinic is $8:00 per person to all
house, community and travel baseball managers, coaches, assistants,
parents & players. This coach's clinic is for both KVBSA
members as well as non-members and anybody interested in baseball.

You can pre-register or just sign up at the door.
Feel free to pass this information on to any other coaches in your
community, league and house programs.
Age Group Breakout Meetings
These meetings are held for each age group to define the structure of
the divisions within the age group and setup the framework for
scheduling games. If time permits, teams may start scheduling games at
these meetings. If not, scheduling may take place after this
meeting and conclude at the March 5th scheduling meeting.
These meetings are very important and every team should make sure a
representative from the team attends to make sure you have input to the
structure. Make sure you attend on the date that your age group is
scheduled.

Wood
or non-wood bats may be used and must not be larger in diameter than
2-3/4 inches. There is no restriction with
regard
to the differential between length and weight.

Wood
or non-wood bats may be used. The bat may not exceed minus three (-3)
in differential between length and weight and must not be larger than
2-5/8 inches in diameter. |
Only
wood, laminate or composite wood bats may be used. The bat must not
exceed 42 inches in length
and 2-3/4 inches diameter.

The maximum diameter
shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches and the maximum length shall not exceed
36 inches. Bats should not exceed the 1.15 BPF (Bat
Performance Factor) as defined for baseball bats by ASTM Standards.
Special Note:
In
2012, new big barrel bats (diameters of 2-5/8" or 2-3/4") must
have the new USSSA 1.15 BPF mark. Older big barrel bats will
not
be allowed.
New small barrel bats (diameter of 2-1/2") must have
the new USSSA 1.15 BPF mark as well. At this time no decision has been
made regarding older small barrel bats and whether they will be allowed.
